Campaign Goal and Structure

Total Goal: $750,000

The campaign goal is built on a detailed budget for the 7,500-square-foot facility, including site preparation, construction, interior buildout, fixtures and equipment, and a modest contingency. One hundred percent of every dollar raised goes directly to the Softball Fieldhouse Building Fund at Calvary Baptist Church.

How Campaigns Like This Get Funded

Capital campaigns are won at the top of the donor pyramid. Decades of fundraising data show that approximately 70% of any campaign’s total comes from the top 10–15 gifts. That math drives our strategy. We are seeking a small number of leadership gifts, a meaningful tier of major gifts, and broad community participation through lockers, bricks, and program-wide support.

The chart below illustrates the gift structure required to reach $750,000:

Every gift matters. Every gift will be acknowledged. And every donor — from $250 to $400,000 — will have a permanent place in the story of this fieldhouse.

Ways To Give

All gifts are made directly to Calvary Baptist Church and designated for the Softball Fieldhouse Building Fund. As a church, Calvary Baptist is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and all contributions are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Gifts of Cash

Cash gifts may be made by check or money order made payable to Calvary Baptist Church with “Softball Fieldhouse” noted in the memo line.

Multi-Year Pledges

To enable larger commitments, pledges may be paid over up to two years (24 months) on the schedule of the donor’s choosing. A signed pledge agreement establishes the commitment, the schedule, and the associated naming recognition.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities

Gifts of appreciated stock or mutual funds offer significant tax advantages. The donor receives a deduction for the fair market value of the securities while avoiding capital gains tax on the appreciation. For donors in higher tax brackets, a gift of appreciated stock can be 20–30% more tax-efficient than the equivalent cash gift. Brokerage transfer instructions are available on request.

Donor-Advised Fund Recommendations

Donors with donor-advised funds at Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, the National Christian Foundation, or other DAF sponsors may recommend grants to Calvary Baptist Church for the Softball Fieldhouse Building Fund. The church’s EIN and address are available on request.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

Donors aged 70½ or older may direct qualified charitable distributions of up to $105,000 per year (2025 limit; indexed for inflation) from an IRA directly to Calvary Baptist Church. QCDs satisfy required minimum distributions and are excluded from taxable income.

Planned and Estate Gifts

The campaign welcomes bequests, beneficiary designations, and other planned gifts directed to the Softball Fieldhouse Building Fund. Donors considering a planned gift are encouraged to consult their attorney or financial advisor.

Matching Gifts

Many employers match charitable contributions to qualifying organizations, including churches. Donors are encouraged to check with their employer’s HR or matching gifts program to potentially increase the impact of their gift.
